Our unique solution uses Bentonite Clay Granules distributed via our own customised Extended Hopper! It is quite common for a lake to be unable to maintain its maximum water level. In this case the lake level was down by around 1m.

The process

Bentonite is supplied in a granular form to initially allow for water to penetrate and come into contact with the particles. The Sodium Bentonite clay granules are the same product that is often referred to as an Engineering Grade Bentonite. The same type that is often used for Oil and Geothermal Drilling muds.
As water is absorbed, the clay expands to fill cavities between the granules and the adjacent soil. Once hydrated the clay forms an impermeable barrier.

Our Solution

Our unique in-house designed hopper then does its magic by spreading the granules over the lake with maximum and even distribution. The result is a lake that now maintains its designed level.
